The John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach® is a gentle yet powerful form of bodywork designed to relieve pain, reduce tension, and restore your body’s natural ability to heal. Over time, our bodies hold onto stress, injuries, inflammation, and trauma—even from surgeries or repetitive movements. These experiences can create tight, stuck areas in the fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds and supports every muscle, nerve, and organ in your body. When this tissue tightens, it can put an extreme amount of pressure (up to 2,000 pounds per square inch!) on pain-sensitive areas—often without showing up on standard tests like x-rays or MRIs.
During a Myofascial Release session, I apply gentle, sustained pressure to these restricted areas to help soften and release the fascia. This not only eases pain and pressure, but also helps improve movement, reduce inflammation, and allow your body’s natural healing systems to function more effectively.
